Terms of Use

Clear rules for using Lightly Coded.

These terms govern your use of lightlycoded.com and the free audit. Paid work is always governed by a separate, mutually signed agreement — not this page.

  • Free audit is goodwill
  • Paid work is a signed agreement
  • Alberta governing law

The short version

The rules in plain English, before the detail.

The full terms below are binding; this summary is just the practical meaning.

  • Use the site fairly.

Provide accurate information, don't abuse the contact form, and don't disrupt or scrape the site.

  • The free audit is an opinion.

It's a goodwill review in plain English — not a guarantee of rankings, traffic, or any business result.

  • Paid work is a signed agreement.

Anything beyond the free audit is governed by a separate written contract, not these terms.

  • You keep your rights.

These terms cover the website; your privacy is governed by the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice.

Important legal note

This is a plain-language draft of what the site does.

Canadian consumer-protection rules and provincial law should be reviewed by someone qualified before this is relied on. Where these terms and a signed engagement agreement differ for paid work, the signed agreement governs.

What Lightly Coded does

The studio's work falls into four areas.

  • Website Design & Development

Clean, fast, mobile-friendly sites built around business goals.

  • SEO Foundations

Search-friendly structure, metadata, schema, and local visibility.

  • Lead Capture

Forms, CTAs, tracking, and follow-up paths so an inquiry never falls through a crack.

  • AI Automation

Agentic workflows for quotes, scheduling, invoice follow-up, and back-office work.

1. Acceptance of terms

Using the Site means agreeing to these terms.

By accessing or using lightlycoded.com ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you don't agree to these terms, don't use the Site.

2. About Lightly Coded

A founder-led web systems studio in Alberta.

Lightly Coded is a web systems studio founded by Darrell Pardy, based in Alberta, Canada. We design and build websites and the structural foundations they need to be found in search and turn visitors into customers, across Website Design & Development, SEO Foundations, Lead Capture, and AI Automation.

3. The free audit

The free audit is an opinion, not a guarantee.

The free audit is a goodwill review provided in plain English. It is not a promise of search ranking, traffic, conversion outcomes, or any specific business result — acting on it is your decision.

When you request one, you'll receive a short written review covering first impression, SEO foundation, mobile and performance, lead capture, and a recommended next step. We aim to send it within the response window stated on the contact page, but don't guarantee a delivery time.

5. User obligations

Provide accurate information and use the Site fairly.

Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when using the contact form or requesting an audit. Misrepresenting who you are or what you need results in a less useful audit and may mean we decline to work with you.

Acceptable use

  • Don't use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
  • Don't submit fraudulent or abusive contact requests.
  • Don't interfere with or disrupt the Site's functionality.
  • Don't scrape, crawl, or harvest data without permission.
  • Don't impersonate another person or business.

6. Intellectual property

Site content belongs to Lightly Coded.

All content on the Site — copy, design, code, the Lightly Coded name and any logos — belongs to Lightly Coded and is protected by Canadian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent. Linking to the Site is fine.

Ownership of work produced under a paid engagement is governed by that engagement's written agreement, not these terms.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided as-is.

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available"without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and operational, but don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific result will follow from using it.

8. Limitation of liability

Liability for use of the Site is limited.

To the maximum extent permitted by law,Lightly Coded isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, the free audit, or reliance on any information or tools provided. Our total liability for matters arising from your use of the Site won't exceed $100 CAD. Liability arising from a paid engagement is governed by that engagement's separate written agreement.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms can change, with the date moved forward.

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted, and the date at the top of this page will move forward. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Clear boundary

The free audit isn't a paid engagement.

The audit is goodwill. Paid work only begins under a separate written agreement that both parties sign — and that agreement, not this page, defines the details below.

Request a free audit
  • Scope & deliverablesWhat's being built, defined in writing.
  • Timelines & milestonesDelivery dates agreed by both parties.
  • Pricing & paymentFees, payment terms, and refund rules.
  • OwnershipWho owns the code, content, and assets on delivery.
  • Warranties & liabilityDefined by the signed agreement, not these terms.

Plain-English safeguards

The protections worth knowing up front.

  • The audit is an opinion.

A goodwill review, not a promise of ranking, traffic, or conversion outcomes.

  • The site is provided as-is.

Reasonable effort to keep it accurate and operational, with no warranty of uninterrupted use.

  • Liability is capped.

Total liability for use of the site is limited to $100 CAD; paid work is governed separately.
